1. Taitung Ywanhsiao Handan Parade.
The Handanyeh parade started in 1954, about 50 years ago. All the temples, people and shops close early and join in . People will prepare a small stove with fire crackers Handanyeh. The most exciting of activities in the Ywanhsiao Festival is to shell Handanyeh with the fire crackers. Real people play the role of Handanyeh to accept shelling of the fire crackers.

2.Makapahay Aborigines Harvest Festival
When you are visiting Taitung, don’t forget to say “Makapahay!” It is an act of praising in the Amis tribe. It means “beautiful, good, best, and to show power with beauty.” The‘Makapahay’ ,used to be celebrated in individual tribes. Now, put all together, it has become a big program, inviting famous Aboriginal singers and groups together, though advertisements, gorgeous stage lighting and music to let more tourists enjoy it in the summer vacation, experiencing Aboriginal culture and delicious food.

3.Austronesian Culture Festival
Taiwan was the ancestral homeland of the Austronesian people. From Taiwanese Aborigines and other speakers of Austronesian languages, countries interchanged experience, which is proof of their relationships. It is planned for the National Museum of Prehistory and the proposed Austronesian Cultural Area to connect Austronesian countries by cultural resource keeping and travel resources.

4. Mid-Autumn Festival Party in Seaside Park
For Chinese People , Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional day. This day ,all members of a family will come home to have a reunion. Taitung City hold a Mid-Autumn Festival Party this day. We invited a famous show group from China to perform in Taitung City. The performance is so wonderful that everyone never take their eyes off .All the citizens have a memorable Mid-Autumn Festival.
　

5. Family Christmas Party.
Christmas symbolizes peace and thanksgiving. On the Christmas Eve , Taitung City Hall holds a Christmas Party .In the party , all groups have various dance shows,and the Mayor even has a Christmas card from Santa Claus. All of the people have a Christmassy night.
