Introduction
　

Taitung is divided into 46 lanes and 1035 neighborhoods within the city management .The population is about 110,000 , with about 46% in Taitung City .It is at the center of the geography , population , politices, economics, transportation and culture of the 16Townships within Taitung County. The population of aborigines is about19,000.The others are the Han people immigration.
Taitung City is located in southeast Taiwan , longitude 121.10, latitude 22.45. The

area extends from the counter lines of the centeral mountains in the west and next to Peinan Hsiang (township).The south west is by Jhihben Hsi, in front of Taimali Hsiang. In the north are the coastal mountains. Heifa Hsi is on the boundary with Peinan Hsiang.The east is by the Pacific Ocean, As a whole, it is situated by the mountains facing the sea , and there is a long and narrow city , which is Taitung City. The size of the area is109.7691km2. From north to south is 19.8km long. The main streams from north to south are Peinan Hsi ,Taiping Hsi ,Lijia Hsi ,and Jhinben Hsi ,They are in regular succession flowing into the Pacific Ocean and forming a flooding plain topography. The highest point in the city is Liyu Mountain, which is about 75m high . It dominates the city.
